The Union Minister of Finance, Nirmala Sitharaman, proposed a National Tele-Mental Health Program when presenting the Union Budget 2022, citing the mounting mental health concerns caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nirmala Sitharaman, the Finance Minister, announced the establishment of a National Tele Mental Health initiative on Tuesday, claiming that the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated mental health issues in individuals of all ages.

People of all ages have been affected by the pandemic, which has exacerbated mental health issues. “A National Tele Mental Health initiative will be created to improve access to quality mental health counselling and care services,” she stated today in Parliament while presenting the Union Budget 2022-23.

“This would feature a network of 23 telemental health excellence centres, with Nimhans serving as the nodal centre and IIIT Bangalore providing technological support,” she added.

The Union Minister stated that the Budget aims to lay the groundwork for the economy to steer over the next 25 years, from India’s 75th to India’s 100th year, and to continue to build on the vision of the Budget.

Sitharaman, who presented the Union Budget, remarked that India’s great resilience is reflected in the economy’s overall swift return and revival.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman began her presentation of Budget 2022 by expressing sympathy for people who have been afflicted by the COVID-19 pandemic’s negative health and economic repercussions.

According to the Finance Minister, India’s economic growth this year is expected to be 9.2%, the highest among all large economies.

A Union Cabinet meeting was held prior to the presentation, and the Budget 2022-23 was adopted.

Government has decided to take a big step in 2022-23 budget to see the rapidly increasing cases of mental health problems.

The central government finance minister Mrs Nirmala sitaraman stated while presenting the budget that telemental centres will be opened due to increasing cases of mental health problems.

IIT benguluru will provide technical facilities for all this infrastructure.these all facilities will include digital registration, specific identity and will insure to provide better mental health facilities to each and every citizen of the country.
